Please note the following:
Queen Mab of the Seelie has been found dead near the portal in Chipping Norton. The Seelie are in mourning, and there are no clear signs as to who killed the Queen. Bett, Mab's aide, has put out a number of pleas for information, and will reportedly be travelling to Godstow to help track down Mab's murderer or murderers.
The High Monarch of Ireland, Carrigan Ua Conchobair, has allied with the Irish Druids to start a rebellion against the Norman rulers. The Pagan forces have retaken the holy site of Bru Na Boinne and now assault Trim Castle. Both sides call for support from whoever will help them.
Joint Sheriffs of Nottingham Demetrius Khages and the Kelpie Lampo have been killed in a recent revolution there lead by Allie “the Upshot”, the previous Sheriff of Nottingham, now declared outlaw. Allie and an assorted bunch of miscreants have taken the town in her name, although they have not succeeded in taking the castle. Rumours abound of nightmarish creatures accompanying and aiding the outlaws.
Any who fear the menace of the frightful Unseelie from beyond the hole in the sky need fear no longer. Tabitha, Queen of the Fae, is offering an arrangement of mutual benefit to those who seek magical protection. Although the portal has now been sealed, there remains widespread concern about another attack and a number of lords have already accepted her offer. A recent spate of attacks by fae monsters has not done anything to alleviate the panic. Queen Tabitha has also offered to extend a level of protection for this threat as well.
The tides have risen and the beautiful city of Oxford has been flooded, supposedly after the God of Springs has perished. Thanks to the valiant effort of Free Masons, most of the city - notably the poorer quarters have been saved. However, the redirected flood has caused a lot of property damage elsewhere, and especially Sir Roger of Doncaster is very displeased. On the other hand, the peasants see the masons as their heroes, which is nice.
A new College has been raised as a part of the University of Oxford, endowed by none other than Archbishop Thomas Tynemouth. The Chaplain and the rest of the staff would like to publicly thank the Archbishop for this grand gesture.
Someone has changed the bells of Lincoln catherdral. They are now retuned and can only play as carillon the tune of one of the more earthy songs about Guinevere of late discovered by Adelise of Aquitaine and her friends.
Large frog footprints were found at the base of the tower. Really large. Like two-meter-high frog large.
Following the sack of Constantinople by the crusade, the Byzantine Empire has been starting to recover with the aid of closer economic ties to Salah al-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub and his domain in the Holy Land. Marcus Karlson, the steward for the new Mercantile Guild office in Cairo, is reported to have headed these agreements, and it appears that Cairo's star is rising in the East.
Marcus Karlson seems to have abandoned popular agitation and rebellion in favour of selling sweetened baked goods to the nobility. The new 'sugarbread' is particularly delicious and anyone wishing to curry favour had better be able to provide some.
Thanks to the tireless preaching from Goda Tirel, the South of England have largely thrown off the shackles of pagan oppression and are reaching out and embracing the true religion. Praise be to Goda: a candidate for sainthood if ever there was one.
Alternatively: that bitch Titel is spreading worship of the usurping saints throughout the land. She's a major obstacle in our reclaiming of our ancient lands and must be stopped.
Now, I'm not saying this is true, or anything, and I heard it from my cousin anyway, but they say that the Gods themselves fought to close that Portal, that the Saints joined them on the same side, that St Frideswith and Totatis were heard joking about how many they'd killed, that Dii Casses herself turned up to help humanity.
Anyone know anything more about this?
