Any attempt to apprehend the subject must be approved by the commander in chief.
Ishri Saint-Clair has agreed to persuade the group known as the Wyllanbar to unite with Collegium Profanum. Thomas Feyborn is overseeing it as a representative of Collegium. The interested parties include the aforementioned Ishri Saint-Clair, Thomas Feyborn, Garrula and a man introduced as the head of the organisation, going by the name of Pavo. Garrula and Pavo have unanimously decided that they do not wish to follow the ethics as dictated to them by the Collegium, thus choosing the only other option they were offered: annihilation.
Collegium and Knights of St George, lead by Sir Gerard, have assembled their finest fighters in a small, unassuming village of Blackbird Mounds in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Thomas Feyborn has lead them for another hour from there, to a ruins of an enormous stronghold. Ishri has accompanied them, but made a disclaimer that she won't take part in a fight against people she has considered friends. After some dispute, Thomas has convinced the assembled forces that it is hidden with magic that will dissipate upon passing through the gate. Ishri has not spoken on the matter.
At the moment the first person has stepped over the broken arch, the illusion has fallen, and they have found themselves in the middle of a courtyard, surrounded by solid high walls. The unit was jumped by powerful mages. The number of ambushers was difficult to estimate, but was in the range of three dozen. A fight ensued. The attackers were very skilled with combat spells, yet too few in numbers to win the battle. They were overpowered and all of them have chosen to die rather than surrender.
The last words of Garrula were recorded by Thomas Feyborn as follows:
“Congratulate my dear Ishri, please. She has achieved what we set out for. I will die satisfied.”
Ishri Saint-Clair has disappeared during the battle, while the Knights and the members of the Collegium have been fighting for their lives. Soon after the fighting has stopped, she has been seen scurrying away, dragging a large sack and an armful of scrolls with her. Sir Gerard has ordered not to follow her, as she was known to be a deadly opponent, and they were already exhausted after the battle.
As the Knights and the Collegium have left the stronghold, many have claimed that it looked exactly like the illusion of ruin they have seen on their arrival. Upon further inspection it was established that no more magic was hiding its true appearance. Kalidium, the stronghold of the accursed Wyllanbar, has been destroyed once and for all.
Lord Shipwright is known to be opposed to any magical form of travel, in particular the portal network. Incidents of shipwrecks being dropped on the heads of those who use it, have been accredited to him, for a lack of any other suspect. Whenever Ishri has been around, she made a point of exploding the wrecks mid-air in a spectacular fashion, deploying powerful magics that are not suitable for public use and cause significant collateral damage. She hes to be commended for her intentions, however multiple officers of the law have approached her to ask her to use less destructive methods, please, and were ignored.
“It's like a cute pet. I'd like to play with it. Gavin and Ludovic in particular, even though the former is now an actual god, will never cease to be, in my eyes at least, endearing but foolish little creatures that need to be taken care of. Like kittens.”
Excerpt from a letter from Ishri to Edithe le Belle, on the Pact of Patience
“Of course I agreed at the time! We were going up against well-trained, armed mercenaries with nothing but our farming tools. Having a claw for a hand sounded like a brilliant idea then. Not only it gave me a more wieldy weapon, but also it scared the *** out of anyone who saw it. Besides, you don't say “no” to a psychopathic madwoman like her. Next time she wasn't going to ask that nicely, I bet.”
Excerpt from an interrogation of Peter, son of William, a peasant who took part in Marcus Karlson's revolt
