My family been Fenfolk since there was Marsh to live in. Its not an easy life, what with the flooding but its a free life. Plenty to fish, plenty to hunt and the women of the Fens are like them of no where else. If only it wasn't for them damned Lords. Frenchmen and Catholics the lot of em. In the Fens people still remember the old ways, the Gods of the English and the Angles, not these fluffy European types. I always been good with a blade, I can make good use of a bit o kindling if your standing close, I tell ya now so don't go getting ideas now. It came as no surprise that my good Lord chose me as one of his men, gave me a good sword, chainmail for my back and good food on my plate. All I had to do was go round and kill any poor barstard who hadn't paid his rent. And by the Gods what he had me to do to my own, to those following the old ways was unspeakable.

I didn't wait long after the King's death to leave that life behind. Now I won't say nothing but I ain't a Lord's no more. Plenty of men call me and Oathbreaker but I know you can only ever make an oath with your own. The rest means nothing. But I couldn't stay in the Fens no more, so I upped sticks and made my way to London. On my travels I met plenty others like me, good lads fallen on hard times, followers of the Old Ways who hate the way this country has become. They are my brothers now and wherever I sleep is my Fen.
