Marcus Karlson is a respected scholar of theology and ethics at the University of Oxford, who is becoming known for arguing an unorthodox view that holds that all men should share more evenly distributed income and wealth, as well as for his expert knowledge of Eastern texts and customs.

He is also affiliated with the Mercantile Guild, having spent years on a trade expedition to the East, making important contacts and trade deals with the Arabs, before entering academia on his return.
